Forgotten workers
There has been so much in the news about the Greenwood School District: Who voted for whose wife, Employee of the Month, Parent of the Month, Child of the Month, but never Maintenance Employee of the Month. Why?
These guys never get recognized for all their hard work (heating, air, electrical, flushing toilets, grounds, etc.). They saved the district’s behind when it was being audited. They had to work overtime to repair all the things that needed fixing.
Where is the appreciation these guys deserve?

Editor’s note: Not sure the criticism is fair.
The Greenwood School District selects two Employees of the Month from each school: once certified, and one classified. Maintenance workers are eligible and have been selected as Classified Employees of the Month.
Recycling
Regarding the article “Recycling chief wins state award” (March 4):
I hope more people in Greenwood will take part in recycling. It only takes a small amount of time.
