Homosexuality
I grew up here and moved away for a lot of years and saw how a lot of others live. I hope I learned from both my Southern upbringing and living among all of those “Yankees.”
First, let me say I am very definitely not homosexual and hope also I have common sense. But as far as “sandman” (“My Two Cents,” Feb. 18), I only hope this person is never in a position of authority, as I would not follow this person across a room to get a free drink.
Just who gives this person the right to tell others how they should live their lives? Also, just where does this person get all of his great right to tell others what they are doing is wrong and evil?
Just because he thinks he knows what is good or evil is not true. I have been proven wrong many times. That is why pencils have erasers.
Mississippi Redneck and Proud of It
Accused killer
Regarding the article “Suspect killed girlfriend in 1998” (Feb. 15):
It is so sad that a man who bludgeoned a four-month-pregnant lady did not do his entire sentence. Perhaps if Ben Meeks III had done his entire sentence, maybe Reshunda Moore would still be alive.
Does a woman’s life count for anything? Perhaps if the first lady he killed had been of another race or some politician’s daughter, Meeks would have gotten the death penalty, or he would have at least served his whole sentence. Now this “no good waste of space” has allegedly killed yet another woman — a woman who had three children, whom someone else now has to raise.
Now, since this is capital murder, can they please just get rid of this guy once and for all?
Eagle Scouts
Congratulations to the 24 Eagle Scouts from a very old Eagle Scout, member of Troop 46 circa the ’60s.
