Hospital board
Talk about shooting yourself in the foot. The members of the Greenwood Leflore Hospital Board did it to themselves.
They had a proposal on the table from University of Mississippi Medical Center to help with management and financial difficulties. Inaction by three members of the board led to UMMC taking the offer back to Jackson. What are they thinking?
We had a chance to get world-class medical personnel and health care delivered to our door, and these folks slammed it shut. When a member of my family needs hospitalization, I don’t want to have to drive two hours one way.
The board members need to explain themselves. If they can’t, they need to resign and hope that they or a family member doesn't need a good doctor like the ones we have now, because I won’t blame them if they seek employment elsewhere.

When will everybody realize where the real problem lies when we look at the situation Greenwood Leflore Hospital currently finds itself in?
Sammie Foster, Freddie White-Johnson and Emma Bell are the problem.
Based on past articles in the newspaper, it stated that the two consultants are costing the hospital a combined $2 million. The hospital is supposed to be saving money and trying to make money. Instead the board has been making decisions that continually spend money that could have been used to give employees a raise or bonus.
There will also be additional costs searching for a new CEO and his salary. Where do they draw the line, and when will somebody say enough is enough?
The hospital board needed Brian Waldrop. He was its only saving grace and the only one who really understood.

Regarding the editorial “What is board’s vision for hospital?” (Aug. 21):
Surely, you jest!
Those three board members don’t have a vision anymore than liberals have a plan to close our borders or protect the country’s citizens.
Would closing borders seal the deal and keep us 100 percent safe? No. There will always be Satan, always street thugs and lackadaisical parents who really don’t parent but shout “shut up” all day.
When the illegal immigrant strikes in your backyard or kills one of your family members, then you “might” smell the coffee, I pray.
Oh, and good luck on finding someone who understands Greenwood Leflore Hospital’s finances.
