The IHL Board made a terrible mistake by hiring Donna Oliver as president of Mississippi Valley State University in the first place.

Congratulations to Dr. Donna H. Oliver. I wish her well in her new pursuit as president. I hope Mississippi Valley State University will be able to recover from her lack of leadership.
Alumni, until you step up with financial support, we will never get the leader we deserve for our university.

Carroll vandalism
Regarding the article (“14 Carroll seniors suspended,” April 20):
I think the Carroll Academy board should be looked into. Last year, the seniors vandalized lockers and several things, however nothing was ever brought out because of students having parents on the school board.
Headmaster Steve Flemming knows this happens every year with the seniors. So for Mr. Flemming to compare this year’s seniors to idiots, he needs to look at himself.
In my opinion, Mr. Flemming should go back where he came from.

White kids at an academy school commit a crime (vandalism is a crime) and get a slap on the wrist. It’s just kids being kids, they say.
If these had been black kids at that school, they would have been arrested.

The seniors definitely need to appreciate the fact that they are allowed to graduate.
They should have been punished by completing a certain amount of hours in community service and not been able to walk the line.
