Editor, Commonwealth:
When I moved to Greenwood, I lost touch of my mind, body and soul at one point. I was lost with nowhere to turn.
When I was younger, at one point I lost sight of my dreams and goals. I had many thoughts of having seen the end of it. I had thoughts that I would not see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Then as I got older, I got much wiser, stronger and better. God put many great people in my life to help me to be where I’m at today, and I’m grateful for that. I did not know my own strength in God or in myself. I have been beaten but not broken. I survived the darkest days in my life and am thankful for the life lessons I learned.
I found hope in my heart. When you have hope, all things are possible. I hope when people see me that my smile is a symbol of my strength.
I know in life that there are going to be many times that it may seem hard, but God will give you strength to go on. He will show you how to pick yourself up, dust yourself off and keep moving forward.
I have seen God work though many people and have seen their life become better. When you’re at the darkest time in your life, know that God is with you and you’re not alone.
Sometimes life will try to bring you to your knees and try to keep you there if you let it. In the times we are living in, it is hard for people, but I know that God will give us strength to keep moving on this road called life.
Life is about how you live it, the choices you make and how you deal with hard times. Don’t ever quit. Know that people care for you, even when it seems that they don’t.
I did not understand these things when I was younger, but now I do.
