Editor, Commonwealth:
How many years will it take to let the United States know that we are not responsible for policing the whole world? I realize that someone has to do it, but are we the only nation that believes in democracy, truth and no eradication of people in faraway lands?
Vietnam started out as an advisory project of the U.S., but the problem is not the training of these people who have been fighting for hundreds of years without any positive results.
I love the United States, but if I had it to do over, I really believe I would have refused to go to Vietnam in 1969. I love my country, but why give your life for economic reasons, which have always put us into war? War is good for the U.S. economy. Billions of dollars were spent on our efforts in Vietnam and are now being spent in Iraq.
No life should be given for the business of the U.S. We should pledge ourselves to keep Israel safe and let the rest of the world be damned.
We have never been successful in our wars. Japan, Germany, Russia and China are our natural enemies. They do not worship God. They worship Confucius, Buddha, Karl Marx and mostly no god at all.
That is the one who causes all our problems — the devil.
