Editor, Commonwealth:
I’d like to compliment your deputy coroner, Will H. Gnemi, for being a great ambassador for your city.
This past weekend, I came to Greenwood in hopes of finding my grandparents’ grave sites. Even with my cousin’s directions, I just couldn’t locate them in Odd Fellows Cemetery on Carrollton Avenue.
Almost at the point of giving up, my wife suggested I pull over at a funeral home (Wilson & Knight) and ask about a map.
Meeting Mr. Gnemi was the highlight of our trip. When I explained my dilemma, he jumped into action, led me not only to the records office but also to the grave sites.
I didn’t want to take advantage of his time (especially because it was so hot Saturday and he had on a long-sleeve white shirt), but I made sure to get his card after I heartily shook his hand so I could share this with your readers.
If Mr Gnemi ever makes it to Tupelo, he has a steak dinner waiting on him.
