Editor, Commonwealth:
We here at the Community Kitchen help to feed about 150 to 175 people Monday through Friday. We really love our job.
I give a motivational speech about God and how he can change your life, then bless the food. Carlee Bailey, the executive director of the Community Kitchen, always says, “Have a good day” and “I love you.” When she says that, you know she really means just that.
Every day, people of all races come and eat a healthy meal. We welcome you to come and share a meal with us if you are in need of a good meal.
One of our missions here at the Community Kitchen is to give directions on how to find work and better your life.
Alberta Brown, our head cook, will make sure your meal is a healthy one. She loves what she does for the people who are less fortunate and hopes a good meal will make their day.
You have to be a special person to have to deal with different attitudes each day. James Hemphill is the person who makes our day. When we are feeling down and out, he finds a way to change the way we are feeling by making us laugh. He is the hardest worker at the kitchen, and we love him for that.
The Community Kitchen’s board is trying to raise funds to create more seating space for the number of people who come. All of our board members are dedicated to completing a mission they set out to do. We thank God for them all. Willie Hayes serves as the president.
I cannot find any other place to be but here at the kitchen doing my best to help in any area that I am needed. If it’s help in preparing certain meals for the people, I can cook.
We here at the Community Kitchen function on the donations of churches and others who come in and help us to feed the people. Thank you, and we love all our donors.
