Editor, Commonwealth:
In the Bible, there was this man who was beaten and left on the side of the road. His own people passed him by. Then came along a Samaritan man who took care of him and helped him.
We here at the Greenwood Community Center have gotten help from some good Samaritans. Two are Kenneth and Gloria White of Greenwood, who, like the Samaritan, knew we needed help and came and helped us work on the building, which was in need of repairs after being closed down for more than 30 years. Kenneth White and his crew, Larry White and Walter Harris, came and did a great job on one of the rooms in the building.
The other good Samaritan was a former classmate of Earnest Adams’, attorney Wilson Carroll, and some kids from Mississippi State University. They came and cleaned up the outside of the building and cut trees and everything.
We would like to thank all of our good Samaritans. We need more good Samaritans to come and help do what you can do.
