A graveside service for Demetrice Martin of Waterloo, Iowa, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Hudson Park Cemetery.

Mr. Martin, 43, died Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025, in Waterloo.

He was disabled.

Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. at Great Southern Funeral Home.

Pastor Willie Smith will officiate at the services.

Mr. McGee, 99, died Thursday, Dec. 11, 2025, at his daughter’s home in Greenwood.

He was a retired lawn and garden worker and a World War II veteran.

Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday at the church.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John’s Methodist Church, with visitation starting at 8:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery in Inverness at 11:30 a.m. The Rev. Ben Butler will officiate.

The Greenwood Commonwealth expanded its newsroom in 2025 by adding Gerard Edic as a reporter covering public safety and other stories of interest to the community.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
