Services for Etta Beatrice McDowell of Greenwood will be at noon Saturday at Providence Missionary Baptist Church.
Ms. McDowell, 75, died of heart failure Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013, at Greenwood Leflore Hospital.
She was retired and was a member of Jennings Temple Christian Methodist Episcopal Church.
She is survived by two sons, Nehemiah McDowell Jr. of Greenwood and Kirk D. McDowell of Olive Branch; four daughters, Linda Kay McDowell of Greenwood, Cinderella Morris of Itta Bena, Helen I. Williams of Cordova, Tenn., and Audva Peters of Chicago; five brothers, Payton Granderson of Chicago, Curtis Granderson of Lynwood, Illl., Herbert Granderson of Southaven, James Granderson of Jackson and Larry Granderson of Elgin, Ill.; and three sisters, Bobbie Jean Randle of Cleveland, Ohio, and DeKota Moyer and Mae Ruth Fields, both of Homewood, Ill.
Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Friday at Century Funeral Home, followed by family hour from 6 to 7 p.m.
The Rev. Willie R. Jones will officiate at the services.
Burial will be in Hudson Park Cemetery.
Lisa Parker
PHILIPP — Services for Lisa Parker of Philipp will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Faith Temple Word of Faith Church in Tutwiler.
Ms. Parker, 45, died of cancer Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.
She was a native of Minter City and attended Mississippi Valley State University for four years. She was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and Ryles Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. She was a clerk for the U.S. Postal Service.
She is survived by two daughters, Jacariah LaSchae Parker of Philipp and Darlisia Topps-Parker of Tupelo; a son, Cameron Dion Parker of Tupelo; two sisters, Pamala Alicia Parker of Philipp and Vanessa Brooks-Parker of Tupelo; two brothers, Robert Lee Parker Jr. of Madison and Jams Parker of Philipp; and her parents, Robert Lee Parker Sr. and Isabella Parker of Philipp.
Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Friday at Clark-Williams Funeral Home in Grenada.
The Rev. J.H. Brown will officiate at the services.
Burial will be in Ryles Chapel Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mary L. Steele
Services for Mary L. Steele of Sidon will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Greater Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Steele, 85, died of heart failure Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, at Greenwood Leflore Hospital.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Steele.
She is survived by six daughters, Bobbie Steele-Williams of Greenwood, Annie C. Steele of Itta Bena and Annie Bowden, Mary Moore, Maxine Smith and Earnestine Steele, all of Milwaukee; four sons, James Steele of Itta Bena, Willie Steele of Greenbelt, Md., Edell Steele of Knoxville, Tenn., and Isaac Steele of Milwaukee; 48 grandchildren, 75 great-grandchildren and 25 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at Sanders & Sanders Funeral Home.
The Rev. Cedric Hibbler will officiate at the services.
Burial will be in Pitts Memorial Gardens.
