SARDIS — Alice Jirleen Petty Cole passed away Tuesday morning, Nov. 4, 2014, at Sardis Community Nursing Home in Sardis.
Funeral services for Mrs. Cole will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, 2014, at Hosanna Family Worship Center in Pope with interment to follow at Friendship East Cemetery in Charleston. The Rev. Damon Plummer will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 tonight at Wells Funeral Home in Batesville.
Alice was born Jan. 6, 1930, in Caddo Gap, Arkansas, to the late John Thomas Petty and Winnie Pearl Mayo Petty. Her loving memory will be cherished by her son Chris Cole of Pope; three sisters, Ailene McDaniel of Holcomb, Alice May King of Greenville and Ruby Dale Buford of Flowood; and five grandchildren, Britney Cole of Flowood and Sarah Cole, Caleb Cole, Dylan McCollum and Jessica Gentry, all of Pope.
In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Laurice Tillman Cole; her son John Tillman Cole; her brother J.T. Petty; and two sisters, Loretta Knox and Pearl Blair.
