Two events hosted by the Greenwood-Leflore County Chamber of Commerce — the Viking Half Marathon and 5K races and the Greenwood Gravel Grind bike ride — have been postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak.
The chamber is working to reschedule a new date for the half marathon and 5K, which was scheduled for March 28.
The Greenwood Gravel Grind, scheduled for April 25, has been moved to Sept. 26.
In another matter pertaining to the coronavirus outbreak, Circuit Judge Ashley Hines handed down the following orders earlier this week:
• All jury trials for criminal and civil cases, as well as criminal arraignments, have been postponed until May 15.
• There will be no court gatherings beyond 50 people in the day-to-day operations of the court.
• The court will not conduct any proceedings that require witnesses and others to travel from an area affected by the coronavirus or involve those who have the virus.
