The one contested race for the Leflore County Election Commission on Tuesday pits former District 3 Supervisor Preston Ratliff against Schlater resident Bernard Tolbert.
The incumbent, Nathan McDonald, is not seeking re-election.
Ratliff served one term as a county supervisor before being defeated by Anjuan Brown in a special election.
Ratliff could not be reached for comment regarding the race for the election commission.
Tolbert said that if elected, he would “just try to do the right thing.” He declined to comment further.
The election commission is in charge of running the general election and purging voter rolls. The job is a four-year term and pays $84 for each day worked.
