Pillow Academy’s Athletic Booster Club is hoping for a big turnout Thursday at its sixth annual Ag Night Auction.
The event will be held at Cannon Motor Co. at 69900 U.S. 82 West.
Social hour will be from 5 to 6 p.m. The live auction will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. The gathering is free to all Booster Club members, sponsors and farmers.
Those who pay the $25 Booster Club membership fee Thursday night and who buy items over $100 in value at the auction will have their membership fee refunded, said Reese Pillow, president of the Booster Club.
Last year, Pillow said, the auction raised $125,000 to support the school’s athletic programs.
Typically the event has items up for auction valued at $100,000.
The live auction includes seed, chemicals, agricultural tires, various farm-related services, firearms, four VIP tickets to a Kenny Chesney concert in Nashville in March and several vacation trips.
A silent auction will also be held on several items including home decor and gift certificates from local restaurants. Typically, the silent auction items have a value of less than $200.
“We’re trying to make it appeal to a broader audience,” Pillow said.
Cannon is a major sponsor of the club, he said.
One of the items to be offered at the live auction is a 2006 Jeep, which has been customized with special wheels and bumpers.
