Residents of Carroll County may be tested for COVID-19 Thursday at J.Z. George High School in North Carrollton.
Drive-through tests will be offered from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Health care professionals will collect specimen samples collected via nose swabs. Those being tested will not exit their vehicles.
Carroll County Emergency Management/Civil Defense Director Ken Strachan said the school is a good central location, and testing conducted there in May went well.
Anyone may be tested who is experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, including fever, cough, shortness of breath or sore throat; or who has a known or potential exposure to someone confirmed with the virus. Anyone wanting to be tested must first complete a free screening from a UMMC clinician through an online questionnaire at umc.edu/covidscreening or call 601-496-7200 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday-Saturday.
Anyone found to need testing will be given an appointment date and time at the most convenient testing site.
