When a pair of Greenwood brothers got the chance to strike out on their own in the telecom business, they jumped at it.
Two months later, Chuck Denton and Jim Nester said they’ve hardly had a chance to slow down.
Their company, Delta Technology Solutions, provides telephone and data service and support to commercial clients across Mississippi and in Louisiana, Arkansas and Alabama.
Denton, Delta Technology’s president, said it’s been a hectic last couple of months, between organizing the company’s new offices and calling on clients, but he wasn’t complaining.
“I hope this is the way it’s going to be for the next couple of years,” Denton said.
They got their chance to go into business for themselves when the Brandon-based telecom company that Nestor was working for — Talon Communications — came up for sale.
Denton, who was working for Upchurch Telecom at the time, said he leapt at the opportunity to join Nestor in buying up the company and going into business together.
“We had the opportunity to do that and go out on our own, so that’s what we did,” Denton said.
Nestor, the vice president, said the company is focused on providing a full range of services to commercial clients, in addition to being an NEC dealer and an AT&T Solutions provider.
“We sell, install and service all communications equipment,” Nester said. “We run data cable, fiber optics, any structured cable. We do networking.”
At the core of their business, Nester and Denton said they hoped to provide the best possible experience for their customers.
“Quality of service at a great rate for our customers is the reason we’re doing what we do,” Nester said. “It’s about customer satisfaction.”
