Stephen Williams, 24, 224 Lincoln St., was charged with two counts of capital murder, two counts of armed robbery and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in the killings of 49-year-old Jacquelin Taylor and 58-year-old Freddie Mask.
Deputies discovered the bodies of Taylor and Mask in a trailer at the end of Miller Road on March 16. Leflore County Sheriff Ricky Banks said both bodies had signs of bullet wounds.
Deputies arrested Williams Sunday, and he was officially charged Monday.
According to the sheriff, Taylor and Mask were selling drugs out of the trailer where they lived.
Williams went inside with the intention of purchasing drugs but instead robbed Taylor and Mask of their drugs and money and shot them with a pistol, the sheriff said.
Banks could not say Tuesday what or how much drugs or how much money Williams allegedly took.
Williams remained in the Leflore County Jail Tuesday afternoon.
The deaths of Taylor and Mask were the county’s third and fourth homicides of 2020.
