Hugh Anslum Warren III, a former longtime Greenwood agriculture and community leader, died Thursday, July 2, 2020, at Golden Age nursing home.

He was 81.
Mr. Warren grew up in a farming family, raised crops himself and later became an advocate for the farming industry as executive director of Catfish Farmers of America, a trade group.
Mr. Warren also was a longtime volunteer and board member at the Museum of the Mississippi Delta, which his father, Hugh Warren Jr., helped found.
Mr. Warren III, who served as the board president for several years, was honored in 2014 for his leadership by the museum in its inaugural awards banquet.
He also was a Master Gardener who prided himself on his proclivity at growing tomatoes. At one time, he had 65 containers of the delectable produce growing at his North Greenwood home.
He was a graduate of the University of Mississippi. He was a communicant of the Episcopal Church of the Nativity, where he also sang in the choir.
He and his wife, Jane Montgomery Warren, had four children: Debbie Belk, Hugh Warren IV and Jeff Warren, all of Greenwood, and Beth Wickliffe of Germantown, Tennessee.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Greenwood Delta Funeral Home.
