A Leflore County woman has been accused of repeatedly stabbing her boyfriend during a domestic dispute.
Jacqueline Huggins, 25, 2620 Luther Drive, remained in the Leflore County Jail this morning, according to Ken Spencer, chief investigator for the Leflore County Sheriff’s Department.
Huggins has been charged with domestic aggravated assault in Wednesday night’s stabbing of Latwain Jones, 22, 1021 Lindsey Ave. Bond had not been set this morning.
Spencer said the department received a call around 10 p.m. about a stabbing at the residence, which is in the Brazil Homes Subdivision.
When deputies arrived, they learned that Jones had already been taken by personal vehicle to the emergency room of Greenwood Leflore Hospital.
Once at the hospital, deputies found Jones suffering from multiple stab wounds to his upper body.
Jones was later admitted to the hospital and, surgery was performed on him Wednesday night. A condition report could not be obtained this morning.
Spencer said the weapon used in the assault is believed to be a common kitchen knife.
The investigator said Jones and Huggins have a romantic relationship.
The couple also have a child together, who lives at the Lindsey Avenue residence, he said.
Spencer said deputies, assisted by Greenwood police officers, apprehended Huggins late Wednesday in Greenwood.
Huggins will likely have a bond hearing today.
