Police are looking for a suspect in a shooting that occurred early Sunday morning at the corner of Broad Street and Bowie Lane in Greenwood.
Two Greenwood men were shot: Larry Green, 60, and Marcus Montgomery, 46.
Greenwood Police Chief Ray Moore said police responded to a call reporting shots being fired in the area and arrived on the scene at about 4:15 a.m.
Moore described the location as the parking lot outside the Wings ‘n Things restaurant. Another unnamed individual, he said, witnessed the shooting from inside the restaurant.
“The victims had already been transported to the hospital when officers arrived,” Moore said.
According to the victims’ account in the police incident report, they purchased food inside and were returning to their car outside when a male wearing a mask came up behind them and confronted them. A struggle ensued as they were trying to leave, said Moore.
“Both men were shot in the back, toward the side,” he said. Shots were fired from a handgun of unknown caliber.
As of Monday afternoon, both men were reported to be in good condition.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, and anyone with information should contact the police at 453-3311.
