A group of men were arrested last week after allegedly taking lumber from a bridge work site in Carroll County.
Carroll County deputies and Grenada police officers arrested the four men June 29 after receiving a call from a witness who reported seeing individuals taking lumber from a bridge work site on County Road 286 in Carroll County, according to a press release from the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office. The four men were stopped and arrested in Grenada County.
According to the press release, Anthony Stewart, 43, of Grenada County was arrested and charged with grand larceny and possession of a firearm by felon. Arrested and charged with grand larceny were George Sims Jr., 65, Grenada; Thomas Sykes, 48, Grenada; and Kacy Lee Stewart, 66, Grenada. The four men were transported to the Carroll Montgomery Regional Correctional Facility. Bonds were set for each, ranging between $5,000 and $10,000.
