A Greenwood man racked up seven charges after a hit and run Wednesday.
Curtis Lee Miller, 36, was charged with careless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, driving with a suspended license, no proof of insurance, resisting arrest, destruction of public property and his second DUI after he hit a car on Carrollton Avenue and sped away.
Greenwood Police Department Assistant Chief Marvin Hammond said that after being called to the accident, police chased Miller until they reached Hayes Homes. Miller then stopped his vehicle and stepped out of the car, Hammond said.
Hammond said that once officers “made contact,” they saw that Miller seemed to be intoxicated, and then he began to struggle with them.
After arresting Miller and running his license in the database, police discovered that he already had warrants out for his arrest — two for contempt of court and one for bail jumping.
Hammond said that, as of Thursday, no bail had yet been set.
Each charge will carry a different bond amount, he said.
