The Leflore County Sheriff’s Department has charged an Itta Bena man with aggravated assault related to a nightclub brawl last month, and a second suspect remains at large.
Alandric A.J. Jackson, 18, 227 Morris St., who was arrested on Tuesday, remained in the Leflore County Jail this morning.
The brawl, according to Leflore County Sheriff Ricky Banks, took place around 11:35 p.m. June 20 at the Rumors nightclub outside Itta Bena on U.S. 82.
The victim said he was jumped inside the club by Jackson and another man, identified at the time as Kejuan McGee of Itta Bena.
According to the sheriff, the victim said he was hit with brass knuckles by the pair.
At the time of the attack, the victim was airlifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, suffering from a broken jaw. The victim has since been released, Banks said.
The sheriff said affidavits against the two men weren’t filled out until June 22, two days after the incident.
Jackson doesn’t have a criminal record, but McGee has a lengthy arrest record, Banks said.
The sheriff said he hopes to apprehend McGee soon.
