Jemorris Love, the 6-year-old who was shot in the abdomen on Kinney Street on June 26, came home from the hospital Saturday.
“He is back to himself now,” said Pamela Love, his grandmother.
Last week, Jemorris went in for his third and final surgery at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, according to his grandmother.
Jemorris was shot by his 5-year-old playmate, who had found a gun under a couch while looking for his shoes and socks.
The child was playing with the gun when it discharged and shot Jemorris, according to Greenwood Police Chief Ray Moore. An adult male was at the residence when the incident occurred, Moore said.
Jemorris was airlifted to UMMC from the Mississippi State Highway Patrol in Greenwood.
