A fourth suspect has been formally charged in the shooting death of a Leflore County High School student.
Demarcio Baines, 18, whose address was not available Saturday, has been charged with murder and shooting into an occupied dwelling.
Knicholas Bradley, 17, was shot while sitting in a chair inside 201 Rainey Alley in Itta Bena, at around 10:45 p.m. Jan. 15.
Others charged with murder and shooting into an occupied dwelling include Cedric Cross, 19, 301 Sunflower Road; Devonte Demond Williams, 18, 224 Lincoln St.; and Andraus Griggs, 18, 105 Nelson Drive. All were in the Leflore County Jail.
In a related incident, Marvin Warren was charged with aggravated assault in the Jan. 14 beating of Dextrice Cross.
Dextrice Cross was later treated at Greenwood Leflore Hospital and released.
Warren has also been charged as an accessory before the fact in shooting into a dwelling and with attempted arson.
Two other suspects in the beating of Cross — Lezerick Wilburn, and his cousin, Jacques Wilburn — remained at large Saturday, Leflore County Sheriff Ricky Banks said.
The shooting of Bradley was preceded by a gunfight outside the H&H Club around 8 p.m. Jan. 15. Two men, Claude James and Devontae McGee, were wounded and were taken to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. McGee was still being treated Saturday.
At 10:20 a.m. Jan 15, a woman reported to deputies that Warren and the Wilburns had threatened to shoot up her residence.
Around 2:15 a.m. Monday, shots were fired into a residence at 224 Lincoln St. Although an incendiary device was thrown against the residence, it failed to go off.
Banks said Saturday the Wilburns were still at large.
Anyone who knows their whereabouts is urged to call the Leflore County Sheriff’s Department at 453-5141 or the Greenwood-Leflore-Carroll Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
