Sheriff Ricky Banks said his department received a call around 7 a.m. Monday reporting that two people were unresponsive at a trailer park at the end of Miller Road near U.S. 82.
The sheriff said both victims lived in the trailer where they were found. He couldn’t say if they were a couple.
“Both of them had signs of bullet wounds in their bodies,” Banks said. “From what we saw at the scene, they were murdered by some type of gun.” He declined to provide other details about the crime scene.
Banks said that the bodies were sent to the state’s crime lab for autopsies after Leflore County Coroner Debra Sanders viewed them.
Taylor and Mask’s deaths bring Leflore County’s 2020 homicide count to four, all of which involved guns.
