NATIONAL SUMMARY
Intense rainfall and strong winds will continue along the
Southeast coast tomorrow as Debby moves slowly towards South
Carolina. Widespread wind gusts over 40-60 mph and a storm
surge of 6-10 feet are expected along the Carolina coasts.
Prolonged heavy rainfall and storm surge can lead to
life-threatening flooding. In the mid-Atlantic, there may be
a few showers, perhaps with a rumble of thunder to the
south. Elsewhere, it will be hot across the southern Plains
and the interior West. In the Rockies, there may be a gusty
afternoon thunderstorm, especially in Arizona and New
Mexico. A storm will move across the northern Plains and
bring a few showers and thunderstorms. It will be turning
cooler across the northern Plains and northern Rockies. It
will be pleasant and sunny across New England.
