NATIONAL SUMMARY
Late-afternoon and overnight thunderstorms can bring flash
flooding, large hail and damaging wind gusts to much of
North Dakota tomorrow. That risk will extend eastward
through much of Minnesota and into western Wisconsin during
the night. Damaging wind gusts can occur on a localized
basis at night even as far east as central and eastern
Wisconsin, eastern Illinois and northwestern Indiana.
Afternoon thundershowers can bring flash flooding and
localized damaging wind gusts from north-central Arizona
southeastward to southwestern New Mexico. Elsewhere, heavy
rain from thunderstorms can cause ponding on streets and
highways in southeastern New England. Meanwhile,
record-challenging heat in the West will expand eastward
into the central Plains.
