The Nation's Weather for Tuesday, April 30, 2024
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Showers and thunderstorms will develop from New England to
the Gulf Coast as a storm travels across the eastern United
States tomorrow. In the mid-Atlantic, any thunderstorm can
bring gusty winds and small hail. Meanwhile, thunderstorms
may become severe from southern Minnesota to central Texas.
The main hazards south of Kansas will be hail and locally
damaging wind gusts, while thunderstorms farther north will
be capable of producing hail, locally damaging winds and
even isolated tornadoes. Another storm will continue to
bring showers to the Northwest and the northern Rockies.
Gusty winds from the northwest will usher in colder air, and
there can be spotty snow showers in the higher elevations of
Montana. Dry and very warm conditions will continue in the
Southwest as a zone of high pressure remains in control.
