The Nation's Weather for Friday, January 12, 2024
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Generally stormy conditions will continue yet again
tomorrow. An intensifying storm tracking across the Midwest
will bring blizzard conditions from Missouri and southern
Iowa through a swath of Lower Michigan as snow and very
strong winds create dangerous conditions. On the southern
end of this storm, thunderstorms are expected to turn severe
in the Southeast, bringing the risk for hail, damaging wind
gusts and tornadoes from the New Orleans area northward
through Nashville and eastward across North Carolina. Rain
will drench areas between those two zones from Virginia
across the Ohio Valley, with dry conditions for New England
and northern and eastern New York state. The southern Plains
and much of the Southwest will be dry, but a storm will
bring snow from Oregon into much of Colorado.
