The Nation's Weather for Friday, September 30, 2022
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
As a tropical storm, Ian will make another landfall
tomorrow. Although Ian is expected to come ashore near the
state line of South Carolina and Georgia, flooding rain,
damaging winds and isolated tornadoes could occur anywhere
from North Carolina to northeastern Florida. Rain from Ian
could make it as far north and east as South Jersey by late
tomorrow night. Meanwhile, showers will dampen much of
Montana, with a steadier rain possible in the southeastern
part of the state. Farther south, a few thunderstorms are
expected to rumble through the central Rockies. Much of the
rest of the nation will have a dry day. Summerlike heat will
persist over portions of southeastern California and far
western Arizona, with some locations topping 100 F.
