The Nation's Weather for Tuesday, September 27, 2022
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
A lingering area of low pressure in southern Ontario will
keep areas of showers across the Northeast and eastern Great
Lakes tomorrow. In spots that are downwind from the lakes,
lake enhancement may allow for bursts of heavy rain at
times. As Hurricane Ian moves over Cuba and into the Gulf of
Mexico, the outer rain bands of the storm may move over
southwestern Florida and the Florida Keys. While the center
of the storm is likely to stay offshore, heavy rainfall and
gusty winds will be a threat, along with a developing storm
surge depending on Ian's exact track. For those who may need
to evacuate, tomorrow may be the last day to complete
preparations, especially south of Tampa. In the southwest,
an ongoing heat dome will keep temperatures up to 15 degrees
Fahrenheit above average for the date.
