The Nation's Weather for Thursday, May 26, 2022
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
A corridor of thunderstorms with heavy rainfall will stretch
from eastern Kentucky and western West Virginia, to Alabama
and Georgia, tomorrow. Some of the rain may be heavy enough
to cause localized instances of flash flooding. Easterly
flow coming in from the Atlantic Ocean may cause a spotty
shower or two from coastal Connecticut, southward through
New Jersey, the Delmarva Peninsula and eastern North
Carolina. In the Pacific Northwest, a new system coming
ashore is expected to end the recent relative dry spell in
the region. Over the interior, an afternoon thundershower
could fire up in northeastern Oregon, Idaho and southwestern
Montana. Record heat will come to an end in the valleys of
California, but temperatures will still be above normal. The
southern Plains will finally dry out.
