The Nation's Weather for Wednesday, May 25, 2022
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Thunderstorms are expected to develop tomorrow across much
of the Midwest, Ohio Valley and Southeast. From Illinois and
Indiana, southward to eastern Texas, isolated storms may
turn severe. Damaging winds are the main threat, though some
hail and an isolated tornado or two are also possible. In
those areas and westward into the Plains, heavy rain will
continue to lead to flooding concerns. A storm total of over
6 inches of rain is possible in parts of Kansas, Oklahoma,
and Texas. Farther east in Georgia and the Carolinas,
isolated thunderstorms are also expected, and can produce
localized downpours. Heat will reach a peak in much of the
Southwest, especially in California. In the Central Valley,
most locations will break record highs.
