The Nation's Weather for Sunday, May 8, 2022
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
A rainstorm will continue to move farther offshore from the
mid-Atlantic coast tomorrow. The steadiest rain will taper
off for many across the eastern mid-Atlantic, but will
linger into tonight along the coast. On the coast, winds
will persist and seas will build so that stormy conditions
will last through the overnight hours. Dry weather is
forecast to linger over New England and expand over the
Great Lakes region, while showers and thunderstorms push
across the southern tip of Florida. A heat wave will
continue across Texas and the southern Plains as more
temperate air holds over the North Central states. As windy
conditions continue across the Southwest, the wildfire risk
will remain high.
