The Nation's Weather for Tuesday, August 31, 2021
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Ida will continue to lose wind intensity as it tracks over
the southeastern quarter of the United States tomorrow.
Despite the loss of wind intensity, Ida will still be able
to deliver heavy rainfall from the Tennessee Valley to the
Appalachians. Where heavy bands of rain persist, flash
flooding concerns will elevate significantly. Farther west,
thunderstorms will develop from Nebraska to Missouri and
even reach into Indiana. Even farther west, thunderstorms
will fire up across the Southwest as moisture associated
with Nora is transported into the region. Locally heavy
downpours may be able to trigger flash flooding for portions
of the area.
