The Nation's Weather for Saturday, March 5, 2022
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
A large storm will affect much of the nation tomorrow.
Severe thunderstorms can develop in the afternoon in Iowa
and northern and central Missouri. Damaging winds will be
the main threat, but an isolated tornado cannot be ruled
out, particularly in Iowa and northern Missouri. In the
colder air, a wide swath of snow is expected to accumulate
from Nevada to South Dakota. A mix of snow, sleet and
freezing rain can cause treacherous travel from central
Minnesota to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. A few showers
can linger in California, especially in the southern part of
the state. Gusty winds and excessively dry weather can again
result in a high fire threat in eastern New Mexico and West
Texas. Springlike warmth will dominate the Ohio Valley and
Southeast.
