Lady Mustangs begin hoops season with a 73-43 victory

The Pillow Academy girls basketball team opened its 2024-2025 season with a 73-43 triumph over Columbus Christian at the Columbus Christian Tournament Tuesday.
The Lady Mustangs only led 10-6 after the first quarter and 28-20 at the half but went on a 24-10 run in the third period to lead 52-30 headed to the fourth quarter.

The Greenwood Commonwealth expanded its newsroom in 2025 by adding Gerard Edic as a reporter covering public safety and other stories of interest to the community.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
