Regarding the editorial “An easy holiday for county to cut” (April 30):
I grew up in Mississippi, a descendant of a sergeant in the 2nd Partisan Rangers (Forrest’s Cavalry) who was born, grew up and was educated in New York, coming to Mississippi in about 1840.
