A Greenwood woman who pleaded guilty last month to aggravated assault in connection with the 2021 shooting at Scott Petroleum in Greenwood was sentenced Friday.

Hospital laying off 30; undisclosed number of physicians included

Greenwood Leflore Hospital is laying off 30 employees, including an undisclosed number of physicians, as part of an effort to reduce its continued losses.
Most of the impacted employees were notified Tuesday, but some may not get the news until next month, according to Jason Studley, the hospital CEO.

Mr. Henderson, 36, died Monday, Aug. 28, 2023, in Memphis.
He attended Leflore County High School, graduated from Greenwood High in 2005 and studied at Mississippi Valley State University.
