Man charged in shooting that injured 2

Greenwood police have charged a man who they believe was responsible for a shooting Monday that left two people injured.
Deputy Police Chief Clifton King said Michael Strong, 35, 713 Henderson St., has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault.
Strong was arrested on Monday but not formally charged until Wednesday.

Man charged with first-degree murder in shooting

A Holmes County man has been charged in a shooting death in Greenwood this past weekend.
Kendrick Vaughns, 39, 3178 U.S. 51, Goodman, has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of Reginald Washington.
Vaughns was being held Monday at the Leflore County Jail. Bond has been set at $750,000.

Accardo Fernando Willis

Services for Accardo Fernando Willis of Greenwood will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Leflore County Civic Center.
Mr. Willis, 42, died Monday, April 1, 2024, at Greenwood Leflore Hospital.
He was a restaurant worker.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at Century Funeral Home.
