Family dispute leads to stabbing

A Greenwood woman was airlifted to Jackson for treatment after being stabbed in the chest Sunday, allegedly by her daughter.
Police responded to a call from Greenwood Leflore Hospital about the stabbing victim and interviewed her husband.

Coleman pleads guilty to fraud, faces up to 30 years in prison

OXFORD — John Coleman, the disgraced president of defunct Express Grain Terminals, has pleaded guilty to one federal count of wire fraud for his role in cheating farmers and other creditors out of millions of dollars.

2 charged in gunfire; no injuries

Two Greenwood men have been arrested after gunfire Monday that resulted in no injuries.
Police Chief Terrence Craft said Bennie Leahman, 21, 807 W. Washington St., and Quavion Bridges, 19, 305 Young St., were being held Tuesday in the Leflore County Jail.

Victim of shooting will survive

A Greenwood man will survive his injuries after suffering several gunshot wounds in an assault that authorities say was carried out by his brother.
Demarius Bush, 26, will make a full recovery, said Tracy Ware, the grandfather of Bush’s 2-year-old daughter.
