Man, woman face copper theft charges

A Greenwood man and a Carrollton woman have been charged with copper theft, according to a release from the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department.
The release said the arrests were part of an ongoing investigation on U.S. 82.

Man found dead; two charged with murder

Two men have been charged with murder in the death of a man in Sidon on Thursday evening.
Leflore County deputies responded to calls of shots fired shortly after 11 p.m. at Country Manor Apartments.
John Trevea Brown, 24, 204 Smith Alley, Sidon, was found dead at the scene.
