Woman found dead in her county jail cell

A woman was found dead in her cell at the Leflore County Jail on Thursday.
Leflore County Coroner Debra Sanders said Felecia Triplett, 40, was found hanging in her cell by guards doing a routine security check. Triplett was pronounced dead at 1:17 p.m.

Malouf Furniture store to close

Alex Malouf Jr. said he cried before announcing to the employees of Malouf Furniture Co. that he would be closing the store.
“It’s just heart-breaking for me to close it,” he said.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
