2 killed in Wednesday night shooting

Two Greenwood men have died after a Wednesday night shooting.
The victims were Lasine McKinnon, 48, and Demetrius McClain, 41. Both men died from gunshot wounds, Leflore County Coroner Debra Sanders said.

Man found guilty of murder, sentenced to life

Man begins 30-year prison term for killing

A Greenwood man has begun a 30-year prison sentence for the killing of a Greenwood teenager three years ago.
Darius Sims, 20, pleaded guilty last week to conspiracy and second-degree murder charges related to the shooting death of Johnny Cage.

2nd suspect in slaying, robbery is in custody

A second suspect accused of involvement in a robbery and fatal shooting at an alleged gaming house on Mississippi 7 is in custody.
Leflore County Sheriff’s Department Investigator Michael Baldwin said Davion Davis, 20, of Greenwood was arrested Friday and brought to the Leflore County Jail.
