New gym at Pillow set to open

Pillow Academy is about to unveil its newly renovated gymnasium and basketball court.
The facility, updated with several major improvements, will be showcased for the first time Tuesday when the girls and boys teams host Jackson Prep.
It is the culmination of a project that has been more than two years in the making.

Second man charged in fatal shooting

Greenwood police have charged a man with two counts of murder and one count of aggravated assault in connection with a shooting in May that killed two people and injured another.
Police Chief Terrence Craft said Cordarius Arterberry, 26, 246 South Sunset Drive, Jackson, was arrested Aug. 1.
