Greenwood woman fatally shot

A suspect has been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a 35-year-old Greenwood woman Sunday.
Greenwood Police Detective Sgt. Dwight McCaskill said Tuesday that officers responded to a shooting at 1304 Roosevelt Drive, where they found the victim, Jessica McClain.

Man charged with murder in shooting

Police have charged a 24-year-old Greenwood man with murder in the shooting death of another Greenwoodian, 42-year-old Accardo Willis, on April 1.

Women incarcerated in Delta Correctional Facility participated Thursday in a certificate program celebrating their achievements as students in Mississippi Valley State University’s Prison Education Partnership Program (PEPP). Each woman has completed at least 13 hours worth of coursework since enrolling in PEPP in January. (By Katherine Parker)
