The attorney, Craig Geno, reported, however, that layoffs are expected to begin next week.

Woman charged in apparent hit-and-run

The Carroll County Sheriff’s Department arrested a 31-year-old woman believed to be responsible for a hit-and-run that injured two people Sunday, according to a release.

City officials to study marijuana law

Medical marijuana is now legal in Mississippi, and the Greenwood City Council has work to do regarding sale and distribution.
The new law, signed by Gov. Tate Reeves this past week, gives local governments the opportunity to opt out within 90 days of the law’s enaction.

Two more charged with murder in death of Sidon man

Two additional men were arrested Wednesday and charged with murder in the death of a man in Sidon on Dec. 30.
The Leflore County Sheriff’s Department arrested Jakeldris Damond Hunt, 19, and Kadeaderick Hunt, 21, 100 Ware St., Sidon. The two men are brothers.
