Greenwood City Council: Medical pot opt-in likely to be discussed

The Greenwood City Council is expected to consider opting into the state’s medical marijuana program next year.
Jakobi Crigler, a Greenwood resident, asked the council at its meeting Tuesday where the city stands on the program. He said he is part of a group interested in opening a dispensary.

1 dead, 2 injured after Monday shooting

A 52-year-old Greenwood man is dead, two others are injured, and a suspect is in custody after a shooting Monday night.
Police Chief Terrence Craft said the shooting is believed to be an isolated incident, but investigators are still working out a motive. The suspect had not been formally charged as of Tuesday morning.
